What is the best attire for my beauty or boudoir session?
BEAUTY VS. BOUDOIR:
Boudoir sessions are tasteful photos that hint at sexiness. Every person has their own idea of what sexy is as well as what they are comfortable with. These sessions are cute, fun, sexy, flirty and even a bit sensual all the while maintaining your comfort level. Beauty sessions are very similar but with or without the lace lingerie. They have a higher focus on fashion inspired photography and allow you to strut your best outfits and shoes!
HAIR, NAILS & MAKE UP:
Don’t overlook the whole picture. Professional hair and makeup makes a huge difference. Professional makeup artists know exactly what to do with your makeup to make your eyes pop and your face appear smooth and flawless. I personally like a natural looking hair style for most photos, but sometimes a bit of extra body in your style makes boudoir photos like extra fab! If you don’t have the option for professional makeup, please wear more makeup than normal, putting extra emphasis on the eyes. Don’t forget a bit of gloss or colour on your lips as well for a little lift!
Free makeup tip!! – Check out your local department store counter. Many makeup counters will do free makeup if you buy a certain amount of product. ie/ if you use MAC, they will do your makeup for free if you buy $50 worth of product. Be sure to make an appointment.
BODY IMAGE + WEIGHT:
Most women don’t have bodies like a super model but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have gorgeous, sexy photos as well. A good photographer will know just how to highlight your assets best while disguising the parts of you that you’re self conscious about. Just remember, if you have a significant other, s/he loves you just the way you are.
CLOTHING CHOICES:
FOR BOUDOIR > Bring clothing that you feel sexy and beautiful in. Bras, panties, corsets, teddies, stockings, tank tops, booty shorts, sports jerseys & men’s business shirts are all popular. Don’t forget to bring accessories for each of your outfits as well as your sexiest shoes.
FOR BEAUTY > Have 3-5 outfits ready. Choose your sexiest, prettiest and most stylish outfits and really accessorize them to make them glamorous, sexy and stylish. Bring something feminine (ie/ dresses/skirts), something funky/stylish, something casual and pretty, something simple with earth tones for some nice shots focusing on your facial features. Bring lots of accessories to add and remove (ie, jewelry, scarves, hats, glasses, shoes/boots, belts etc). The sky is really the limit here, but be sure to choose only things you feel super comfortable and fabulous in!
TIPS FOR THE MORNING OF YOUR SESSION:
Drink lots of water and wear loose fitting clothing. Avoid tight fitting undergarments as they are the most likely to leave elastic pressure lines on your skin.
MODESTY + NUDITY:
FOR BOUDOIR > You don’t have to take your clothes off to be sexy. Clothed, partially clothed, hinted nudity and fully nude can all be sexy. Let us know what you’re comfortable showing in your photos and trust us to keep the parts you want hidden to stay that way. BDP does not do full nudes, but certain positions and camera angles can make you look this way if you desire.
RETOUCHING:
Retouching of photos is done upon ordering. Once you decide on the images that you would like, we will retouch to our own discretion, any items such as facial blemishes and random unwanted details.
LOCATION:
Your session can be done at your photographer’s studio, your home, a local hotel, bed and breakfast and even outside in a private or secluded area.
